saxon dragons?

or sex and drugs? who knows? well, according to this interview, not even harry and logan of sxndrgs:

us: SXNDRGS; Sex And Drugs or Saxon Dragons? We've heard some pretty bizarre reasons for both!
sxndrgs: Its both... maybe... Not sure.

us: How did the name come about?
sxndrgs: We wanted a name that was edgy and provocative and involved dragons.

us: Could you please introduce yourselves for our readers?
sxndrgs: We are just two cool dudes armed with nothing more than a macbook and 'A Cross The Universe' on DVD.

us: How would you describe your music?
sxndrgs: 'ok'

us: We love it! The tracks of yours we've heard and the sets we've seen have been banging. Are the two of you currently working on any other original tracks?
sxndrgs: Yea. We have a lot of cool stuff in the making, trying our best to get it out there.

us: Or perhaps a remix or two? We haven't yet seen any released, but we'd sure as hell like to.
sxndrgs: We've done a couple bootlegs and are working on some full length remixes.

us: When you aren't working on new material or performing, how do the two of you enjoy spending your free time?
sxndrgs: We like to eat bacon egg and cheese sandwiches.

us: Do either of you play any musical instruments?
sxndrgs: No. We tried piano for a little bit but we couldnt figure out how to install ableton on it.

us: What are your backgrounds with regards to music?
sxndrgs: Default

us: And how did the two of you meet and then decide to DJ and produce electronic music?
sxndrgs: We grew up near each other and always had the same love for bngrz of all sorts. One day we were hangin out, pounded a sixpack of 'mikes hard lemonade' and out came chrome depot.

us: We're certainly glad you did! Have you got any plans for touring or further gigging though, so we can see you play your music too?
sxndrgs: Absolutely. We will only tour with alternative electro acts such as steve 'bloody beetroots' aoki or JusticeCross.

us: What do you think the rest of 2009 holds in store for SXNDRGS?
sxndrgs: Maybe we'll make a tune with an intro

us: And what will we see of SXNDRGS in 2010?
sxndrgs: We will dominate the world and be on beatport.

us: Parties. Can't live without them. Are either of you two party animals?
sxndrgs: We are both party animals! Party time!

us: Have you got any crazy or embarassing stores from parties or gigs you've performed at or been to?
sxndrgs: One time logan hooked up w/ xavier from justicecross

us: And what is your drink or intoxicant of choice? Parties and otherwise?
sxndrgs: a SXNDRGS of course!

us: We can imagine you two have pretty eclectic tastes in music. Who are your current favourite bands or producers?
sxndrgs: AC Slater, Blatta and Inesha, Gigi Barocco, Rusko, The Kooks, Nero...

us: And your top five favourite tracks?
sxndrgs: Couldnt possibly give you a list of our top 5, its changes as fast as the blogs update!

mp3 sxndrgs - MMWHATHA [320kbps] (alt. links)

harry and logan were kind enough to send me a 'live edit' entitled MMWHATHA. it is a bloody brilliant track, laced with the same style heard on we can fly and chrome depot, both of which you can grab in full 320 bitrate over on noiseporn. this one is, as with their others, a banger. i absolutely love the vocals and builds, and the edit as a whole. as they said, it is fucking fun.
